The Koenigsegg Map 2023

The close of 2023 is upon us, and it has been quite the year! We finally saw the delivery of the first customer Jeskos, and we end 2023 with fifteen units delivered! As we published recently, there has been lots of activity in the resale market, especially among Regeras. All of this means lots of work for us to compile the 3rd annual Koenigsegg Map! We began this project back in 2021 and were amazed by the incredible reception, leading us to repeat it for 2022. Over these two years, the project has reached in excess of 600,000 people and been overwhelmingly well-received. Since the previous map, an updated version has been highly requested. Thus, in our continuous pursuit to be the best place for Koenigsegg knowledge online, we have made an updated map. Without further ado, we present The Koenigsegg Map: 2023.

Representing 250 Koenigseggs worldwide, this Koenigsegg map shows the fascinating geographic spread and density of the cars. The United States of America is home to the most Koenigseggs with 56 cars, though this number will climb quickly as US Jesko deliveries begin in 2024.

Sweden and the United Kingdom tie for the runners-up place on paper with 32 Koenigseggs each, though this is not exactly representative of ownership. Sweden is home to many factory development cars, non-running show cars, and totalled/destroyed chassis (on paper), so a faithful interpretation of the question would peg Sweden’s number significantly lower than that of the United Kingdom.

The biggest ‘winner’ this of 2023 was Denmark, now home to five Koenigseggs: a CC8S, Agera R, Regera, and two Jeskos. Denmark actually peaked at six resident Koenigseggs this year, with the very first customer Jesko (#7200) being delivered to a small town in southern Denmark, though this car has since been sold to an owner in the UAE, decreasing the Danish count by one. An easter egg for our Danish readers: five of the first ten customer Jeskos were originally Danish owned, though one of these was sold before delivery, one sold abroad four months after delivery, and one delivered to a Dane living outside Denmark.

Next, we will explore the data of the map by region, starting as we did last year with Europe: the home of Koenigsegg.

Ignoring Sweden’s inflated numbers for reasons discussed above, the United Kingdom is the preeminent heavyweight in Europe. The UK market was among Koenigsegg’s earliest, with SuperVettura (Koenigsegg UK) established there in 2005. SuperVettura has since sold approximately one-third of all Koenigseggs produced, helping craft a deep-rooted Koenigsegg ownership & enthusiast culture in the country. The 32 Koenigseggs currently residing in the UK encompass a broad range from CCR to Jesko, including 3/7 Koenigsegg One:1 in the world.

Switzerland is another country packed with ghosts — 21 and counting, to be more precise. The majority of these are linked to Lucerne-based Carage, either belonging to the Carage private collection or one of their many clients. Switzerland is home to a trio of very special cars finished in Koenigsegg Naked Carbon (KNC), specifically a One:1, Regera, and Jesko - with another KNC Koenigsegg joining next year (2024).

The Koenigsegg Map was a lot more bare in Europe in 2022 than it is for 2023. This is thanks to a batch of countries recorded as having zero Koenigseggs last year since receiving them. Notably, the Netherlands received Koenigsegg Jesko ‘Plus’ (#7261) and Poland received their first new Koenigsegg delivery, Jesko (#7292). Belgium is home to an Agera R (#7090) and Austria has had a homecoming of Agera RS #7116 (stored in Switzerland in 2022), bringing its total for this year to two (alongside CCXR Special Edition #7068).

Norway and Spain have both seen a drop in their Koenigsegg counts. The Koenigsegg CCGT, which lived in Norway for many years, was sold to an aspiring American car collector at Bonhams auction in July, and is currently at the Koenigsegg factory in Sweden. Spain is home to two Regera (#7126 & #7187), with the additional cars recorded as being at Carage Marbella in the 2022 map now being included in Switzerland’s tally for this year. Spain very briefly received Jesko ‘Odin’ (#7509) earlier this December, but the car has since relocated to the UAE.

The Asian market continues to grow for Koenigsegg, with a batch of new cars arriving this year. Listed as having just one Koenigsegg in 2022, Hong Kong is currently home to four: a CCR and three Regeras. One of these, #7218, was very recently sold from the UK. This trend will continue in 2024 with Hong Kong set to receive multiple Jeskos.

South Korea has dropped from three cars last year to two, one of the resident CCR’s having sold overseas. Korea was due to receive a Jesko in 2023, something that had garnered much excitement in the enthusiast community there, but a change in circumstance meant the car would not arrive, a story we explained here.

Southeast Asia has had an exciting year. Agera S+ Medusa (#7098) returned to Singapore in April, after having spent much of 2022 at the Koenigsegg factory undergoing extensive upgrades. Christmas 2023 saw the arrival of Singapore’s first Jesko, just in time to be included in this map. These two changes boost Singapore’s count from three Koenigseggs last year to five this year. Indonesia also received a new car, specifically Regera #7215, doubling its Koenigsegg count from 1 to 2. This gorgeous Regera is a car that we at Egg Registry had the chance to spend time in and around at Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. It arrived in Indonesia in December, having been sold from the UK through SuperVettura.

2023 has been a somewhat quiet year for the two Asian Koenigsegg heavyweights: China and Japan. Japan lost two cars - Agera RSR #7123 and Regera #7169 both finding their way to Dubai (the former up for auction at RM Sotheby’s in 2024) - but gained one with the arrival of Regera #7206, for a net loss of one. China and Japan are currently home to eight Koenigseggs apiece.

After living in the shadow of the European Koenigsegg heavyweights and the United States for years, the Middle East has emerged as a growing powerhouse for the brand. This growth is anchored by the United Arab Emirates and, more specifically, the city of Dubai. The UAE is currently home to seventeen Koenigseggs, six of which have arrived in the fourth quarter of 2023 alone (four of which are Jeskos). If this trend continues, which we fully expect it will, the United Arab Emirates will join the highest tier of the map in 2024.

Saudi Arabia is currently home to four Koenigseggs: the beloved Agera RS ‘HM’ (#7115) and three Regeras. Both unchanged from last year, Kuwait has two Koenigseggs (both are Regera) and Bahrain has one. The Sultanate of Oman is home to one Koenigsegg, a stunning purple Regera (#7516).

Shifting to the African continent we find four Koenigseggs: a Regera in Morocco, a One:1 in Equatorial Guinea, and both a CCX and CCXR in South Africa. Generally, these cars are not seen nor driven, making it exciting news anytime we hear about one of these elusive examples.

As the country home to the most Koenigseggs (by far), and given its significant geographic spread, the United States of America gets its own map breaking things down to the state level. With American hypercar culture sometimes perceived as being limited to the wealthy, warm cities of Los Angeles and Miami, it may be surprising to learn that nineteen different states have at least one Koenigsegg.

It should come as no surprise that California comes out on top, currently home to nineteen Koenigseggs. California’s Koenigseggs are mostly in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County metropolitan area, a region home to four Agera RS, two Agera FE, and seven Regeras, interspersed with a few CC-series cars. The three states sharing borders with California have two Koenigseggs apiece. Oregon has a CCX Edition (#7061) and Agera RS (#7149), Nevada has Agera RS ‘Phoenix’ (#7144) and a Regera (#7186), and finally Arizona has a CCXR Trevita (#7075) and a Regera (#7238).

One of the biggest Koenigsegg news headlines of 2023 was The Stradman’s purchase of Koenigsegg Agera HH, putting Utah on our map for the first time ever. Utah was briefly home to another Koenigsegg from January to July 2023, though the car, CCXR #7041, sold out of state (first to Florida, before settling with a new owner in California). As such, it does not count towards Utah on this map.

Texas is the America’s biggest loser this year, dropping by half from six Koenigseggs on our 2022 map to just three this year. The three departing cars were all Regeras, with one going to each of Ohio, South Carolina, and Florida. The remaining three Koenigseggs in Texas are all in Dallas - two Regera and a CCXR.

In addition to the aforementioned Utah, eight states have just one Koenigsegg each: Kansas (#7183), Michigan (#7229), Pennsylvania (#7171), New Jersey (#7058), Virginia (#7065), North Carolina (#7175), South Carolina (#7185), and Georgia (#7173).

After Ohio lost its sole Koenigsegg in 2022 (the “Triple F Collection” Regera, #7188), it rebounded in 2023. It is now home to two different Regeras, with #7236 in the Cincinnati area and #7167 in the Cleveland area. The state of Illinois had a similar rebound in this years map. On the 2022 map, two of Illinois Koenigseggs were listed under California while on display at The Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. These cars have since returned. Illinois is currently home to five Koenigseggs: North America’s only One:1 (#7112) and four Regeras. Of note is Regera #7220 which lived in Wisconsin since 2021 but has relocated to Illinois while for sale at Koenigsegg Chicago.

In the northeast, New York is home to three Koenigseggs: the ‘CCXRS’ and two Regeras. Neighbouring Connecticut has two, an Agera RS (known as Agera XS ‘The King’) and a CCX. This is down from three Koenigseggs in Connecticut on the 2022 map, with an Agera RS and Regera both having left for California, whilst the CCX is a new addition as of summer 2023.

Florida is home to five Koenigseggs: CCX, CCXR Special Edition, Agera XS, and two Regeras (both of which are for sale at Koenigsegg Florida). The state does receive frequent visitors, though. Connecticut’s Agera XS makes semi-regular appearances in Florida, as have some of Mexico’s Koenigseggs.

To complete the North American Koenigsegg landscape, Canada and Mexico have three Koenigseggs apiece. Canada has an Agera RS in British Columbia, North America’s only CCR in Alberta, and a Regera in Ontario. Mexico has CCXR "Special One" Evo, Regera “Asger”, and a recently-arrived Jesko, all based in Mexico City.
