General History

The owner of this car definitely wanted to make a mark when ordering his Koenigsegg CCX as this one really stands out. Purple carbon appearance, with a purple interior to match. A truly unusual color combination. Body panels of this car were spotted at the factory in the summer of 2007 but the built of this car is believed to have been completed in October 2007.

This CCX was picked up at the Koenigsegg factory October, 22nd of 2007, by it's Swiss owner, who added it to his car collection. Its owner did however not keep #7045 as a garage queen but registered this CCX in February 2008 and actually used the car quite often.

It was entered into the Black Falcon Battle Royale event in August 2008 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This event was organized by the first owner of #7045, a Swiss car collector, who wanted to see which of his cars would be fastest in a lap on the Nürburgring. Five cars, which were all prepared by Black Falcon and driven by Marc Basseng, went head to head; a Maserati MC12, a Ferrari Enzo, a Porsche Carrera GT, a Pagani Zonda F and this Koenigsegg CCX.
Fastest was the MC12 (7:24,29), closely followed by the Zonda F (7:24,65) and the Enzo (7:25,21) with the Carrera GT in fourth (7:28,71) and this CCX in fifth and last position (7:33,55) but with the highest speed of 190.0 mph on the Döttinger Höhe.

Being slowest was disappointing but much worse was that #7045 was crashed on a section that had contrasting cambers and it had just rained. The car spun and hit the guard rail twice.

After repairs this CCX was offered for sale in 2010 at Carugati Automobiles with a little over 6,500 km on the odometer.

It was bought in December 2010 by another Swiss car collector and driven regularly by the Mrs. of the family, who successfully participates in races and is a very capable driver. #7045 was spotted in Switzerland a couple of times in 2011 and also once in France during summer 2013. The car has been offered for sale in August 2014, again at Carugati, after which it was not seen for nearly a decade. It surfaced again in 2023.

Exterior Spec

Finished in purple exposed carbon fiber, which makes Chassis 7045 unique and the first full carbon and tinted carbon Koenigsegg. The exterior color varies from deep purple to a darker, almost black carbon look, depending on the lighting. Some body parts like the front and side splitters as well as the rear license plate holder area and the Top Gear style rear wing were done in clear coated carbon which contrasts nicely with the purple carbon.

Adding a great deal of polished aluminum accents like the Edition style forged 11-spoke wheels, the CCX badges, the Edition style mirror stalks, front bonnet air intake and even the polished aluminum windscreen washers, resulted in this classy appearance. Some of these elements were replaced later however. Most noticeably, the Edition style wheels, which were replaced for the more traditional telephone dial rims.

Interior Spec

The interior is matched to the exterior color and thus has purple as it's dominant color. This might not be to anyone's liking but it is certainly striking! The purple alcantara is contrasted by white accents on the seats and carbon on the dashboard and the instrument cluster, which is still the older CCR type.
